Oxygen 101: Understanding the Gap

The COVID-19 crisis has brought worldwide attention to the need for reliable supplies of medical oxygen. New oxygen plants and oxygen concentrators are at peak demand, and while orders are being filled, attention has turned toward many existing plants and concentrators around the world that simply are not working.

Assist International and Build Health International (BHI) are among the organizations that are now engaged in programs to “find and fix” these existing resources where possible. Rapid assessment and repair initiatives are underway, and these efforts are doubled with capacity building for local entities to maintain their own equipment for the future. The need for repair and restoration of PSA plants and concentrators exists on a global scale. But why?
